Question from Phillip Hurst on 5/16/2019:

I married in the catholic church with a dispensation to my wife who was a practicing catholic. My wife fell away and my life has been turned upside down. She hasn't filed for divorce, has committed adultry, moved out, taken 50% custody of our children, attends protestant church, and is jeopardizing the faith of our children. She somehow filed a personal protection order against me, which I tried to appeal with proof of no credible threat but was declined. Her parents and brothers have backed me throughout this yet my wife seems to be spiraling out of control. Profanity, child endangerment, cps, police and more. Please how can I stop this or get help? My local priests tell me to turn the cheek, but soon I will be out of a job and without my kids! I need some super prayers and some super advice! Thank you and God bless!

Answer by Judie Brown on 5/20/2019:

Dear Phillip

I asked our Catholic pro-life physician to help me with your question, and here is his response:

I have no legal expertise and therefore cannot give any meaningful advice. It is clear from your question you need advice not only for your situation, but also the legal and moral well being of your children. I would suggest you contact a good Catholic attorney to guide you. Perhaps your local chancery office or Catholic Charities legal aid department can steer you to the right person. And never under estimate the power of prayer to help you through this.

My prayers are with you as well. Anthony N Dardano, MD FACOG FACS

God bless you, Phillip. May you and your family find the peace you deserve.

Judie
