St. PAUL
Question from rich Knight on 1/23/2019:

Why was ST. PAUL beheaded?

Answer by David Gregson on 4/30/2019:

St Paul died, as did St Peter, as a martyr for Christ. Christians were regarded as enemies of Rome and were blamed by Nero for the great fire in 64 AD. Saints Peter and Paul were among the Christians executed in consequence of this false charge. According to tradition, Peter was crucified upside down. Paul could not be crucified, since he was a Roman citizen. He was beheaded instead.
