ACCOUNTANT

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:
The Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of standard, technical, accounting functions including analysis, preparation, and maintenance of routine and non-routine entries to the general ledger of EWTN. The Accountant assists in the preparation of interim financial statements, undertakes special projects and/or reports as directed by management, and works closely with management in preparation of annual audits by the independent auditors.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Review source documents used for accounting, maintenance of ledgers, registers and other records of initial entry, and preparation of periodic and special financial reports, budgets, and maintains fiscal records applying professional accounting principles and methods.
- Assist in the preparation of daily EWTN cash counts and bank deposits.
- Reconcile multiple bank accounts.
- Prepare special account analyses and financial reports as directed by management.
- Prepare and enter general journal entries and adjustments, with detailed backup; analyze variance reports; and assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial budgets.
- Responsible for inter-organization transaction with related parties, including billings and reconciliation of inter-organization accounts.
- Participate in the monthly financial closing process as directed by management.
- Assist in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of all general ledger accounts.
ABOUT YOU:
- You have a minimum of 5 years of prior accounting experience.
- You have strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles and practices
- You have excellent analytical ability to process routine data rapidly, efficiently and in accordance with prescribed goals and policies

Cash Specialist

As the Cash Specialist, you’ll be responsible for analyzing, recording, and reconciling daily cash flow to ensure accuracy and completion of recorded cash activity for EWTN and its entities.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Count cash and checks, prepare deposits, and take deposits to the bank twice a week.
- Record daily cash, credit card, and other online revenues for EWTN and its entities, and reconcile entries to Daily Cash Report.
- Reconcile daily / weekly cash transactions for multiple bank accounts.
- Perform and prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts.
- Monitor, maintain, analyze, and record miscellaneous revenue and other receipts.
- Download and save all FIS/FID donation revenue spreadsheets and provide data.
- Prepare Daily Cash Report.
- Monitor returned checks or ACHs; create monthly data worksheet.
- Prepare journal entries for returned checks and ACH donation returns.
- Scan in all appropriate backup to cash entries in the general ledger.
- Reconcile credit card revenue to applicable reports for all companies.
- Prepare weekly summary of available cash for internal management review.
- Perform comprehensive review of monthly bank analysis statements to determine the reasonableness of bank charges and fees.
- Work with Financial Managers to resolve outstanding issues on bank reconciliation before month end close.
- Assist with the completion of the monthly financial close process, which includes detailed reconciliation of all cash accounts.
- Maintain strong internal controls for the safeguard of cash.

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:
As the Editor-In-Chief, you will work with the Executive Director to establish editorial content and related strategy and manages the editorial team to accomplish strategic goals. You will handle the overall editing responsibilities for all content for Catholic News Agency. Provide quality control on articles and documents appearing on the specified medium, ensuring they are theologically correct and journalistically sound. Supervise the content that CNA delivers via social media, be it proprietary or from other EWTN partners.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Formulate annual editorial calendar in conjunction with Executive Director. Ensure reasonably consistent editorial content with editorial calendar. Facilitate all possible integration with EWTN’s production calendar.
- Review and manages editorial guidelines, policies, and related compliance.
- Revise content as necessary in order to enhance its quality and approves pieces based on preset guidelines. Confer with others as necessary to provide expertise, content, and advice regarding bioethics, politics, Church History, Church events, moral theology, general legal, and canon law.
- Ensure constant diversity of perspective (within bounds of magisterium faithful thought and charity) regarding coverage of news and approach to coverage (what to cover when, how, and from what angle).
- Ensure proper and consistent catechetical consistency of news and other content.
- Work with Executive Director to integrate the CNA strategy and content with EWTN News.
- Work with Executive Director to integrate coverage from around the globe through the ACI Group.
- Work with editors, writers, contractors, graphic artists and other personnel necessary to assemble and ensure on-time content.
- Check stories for legal, ethical and theological concerns and consults with Executive Director on questionable items.
- Assist Executive Director and Director of Operations with editorial budget planning and manages the editorial budget.
- Delegate responsibilities and sees that tasks are completed.
- Periodically evaluate all editors and writers; advise on improvement as needed.
- Perform chief reads on all copy; compile stories as needed.
- May represent CNA/EWTN at meetings and functions as requested.
- Maintain regular contact with Catholic Bishops, intellectuals and leaders of key Catholic organizations in order to guarantee a fluid relationship.
- Work with Executive Director to hire, motivate and manage the team. Provide regular feedback, constructive comments and training for staff.
- Select or delegate selection of stories from diocesan newspapers that can be paid and republished in our service.
- Oversee the improvement and management of the CNA Service for Editors, in coordination with the Director of Operations and the Senior Copy Editor.
- Work closely with the Digital Media Manager to supervise all CNA social media content to ensure best practices and alignment with CNA’s mission and values.
- Spearhead the relationship with media providers (Getty Images, Shutterstock, etc.).
- Vet and select reliable stringers in places where we do not have correspondents.
ABOUT YOU:
- You have a minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in Journalism or consistent writing, preferably within a News environment.
- You are a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing, possessing a thorough knowledge of the teachings of the Catholic Church with the ability to apply that knowledge to the News coverage.

As the Legacy Giving Officer, you will be responsible for assisting donors in accomplishing their philanthropic goals while simultaneously working to help EWTN advance its mission. The LGO will implement a comprehensive plan for identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of current donors and potential prospects who have an interest in supporting EWTN.

As the Safety & Security Officer, you’ll provide campus security and surveillance to ensure the welfare of all employees, guests and visitors. Your patrol presence on the network grounds will provide a continuous source of assistance and safety, and you’ll also serve as the first point of contact for providing information to our visitors and guests.

- Perform campus surveillance on foot and by vehicle, ensuring security and safety.

Senior Producer (News Nightly, Washington DC)
SENOR PRODUCER
Full-time, onsite in Washington, D.C. Not remote-eligible.
HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:
As the Senior Producer, you will work with the President and COO to lead the newsroom in producing daily news content consistent with Catholic teaching.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Provide editorial direction on story selection and show content; ensure editorial content meets EWTN News standards and practices.
- Work closely with the President and COO of News to execute long-term strategies and planning for continued growth and enrichment of the newscast.
- Enterprise story ideas and original content focused on stories of interest to a Catholic audience.
- Work with reporters to develop daily news packages and coordinate editorial elements.
- Approve show content including reporter packages.
- Work with Rome bureau on news from the Vatican and daily packages and guests.
- Ensure accuracy of show content and adherence to EWTN editorial guidelines.
- Supervise newsroom staff; lead daily team and editorial planning meetings.
- Approve social media content.
- Maintain production calendar.
- Schedule newsroom staff and editors for approval by the President and COO.
ABOUT YOU:
- You have 5-8 years of prior experience working in TV broadcast news, producing newscasts in medium or large markets.
- You possess 3-5 years of prior experience in a management role, preferably in a newsroom environment.
- You are a practicing Catholic with demonstrated understanding of the faith and how it relates to the programming goals of EWTN News and News Nightly.
- You have experience in field production, package production, and religious programming.
- You have solid news judgement.
- You have the ability to tell a story and engage viewers using graphics and other elements visually and creatively.
- You have experience utilizing broadcast software programs (i.e., Avid, ENPS).
- You possess excellent broadcast writing skills.
- You exhibit excellent communication skills and are able to collaborate easily within a team, work well independently.
- You are able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends/nights when required; flexibility to travel domestically and internationally when needed.
- You hold a bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field.

Sr. Network & Systems Administrator
SR. NETWORK & SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Full-time, onsite in Irondale (Birmingham), AL. Not remote-eligible.
HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:
As the Sr. Network & Systems Administrator, you'll take the lead in maintaining the operation, integrity, and security of EWTN’s Data Center, including the Server Farm, Storage Facilities, and Cloud Platform. Your watchful dedication will directly protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential, and by maintaining the highest quality network for EWTN.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Assume responsibility for the operations of the Data Center(s) - to ensure server farm, cloud platforms, backup, and storage facilities are kept up to date by best practices. This includes: operating system upgrades and patches, 3rd party software patches, SQL upgrades and patches, firmware updates, and security patches.
- Report on network performance, connectivity issues, and hardware issues.
- Analyze Application connectivity and performance within the server farm and 3rd party applications. Present metrics and make recommendations to the Director of Information Services.
- Optimize network performance through analysis, and performance tuning. Troubleshoot network problems such as utilization, throughput, and latency.
- Maintain a secured network by following established IS Policies and Procedures and alert the Director of any violations (includes confidential information only known to the IS Administrative staff).
- Maintain the Microsoft Exchange Cloud Environment along with the Archival Storage Facility.
- Work closely and mentor the Jr. Network Administrator on day-to-day operations and notifications of upgrades to the Support Center.
ABOUT YOU:
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or an Associates’ degree with 5 years’ Network and Systems Administrator experience in an enterprise Data center environment.
- You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience with Server hardware and software installation and maintenance within an enterprise environment (AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies).
- You also have 3 years’ experience with Exchange Online, Azure, and Office 365 platforms within an enterprise environment.
- You would describe yourself has having expert knowledge of maintaining an Enterprise storage platform, and of server hardware/software configurations and industry best practices for security and PCI.
- You would classify yourself has having strong experience with Tape Libraries environments utilizing Backup software such as Symantec, and of having up-to-date knowledge of Industry Best Practices.
- Some of your most dominant soft skills include: information gathering, problem-solving, adaptability to change, ability to prioritize and multi-task, a passion for accuracy and thoroughness, ability to maintain confidentiality, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A knowledge of the Catholic faith and an affinity for EWTN’s mission.
- Desire to continue education or self/education in the computer technology area.
- Experience with hardware clustering and virtualization including Hyper-V and/or VMWare would be helpful.
- Experience working with VOIP technology would be a plus.

Technical Operations Center Operator
TECHNICAL OPERATIONS CENTER OPERATOR

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:
As the Technical Operations Center Operator, you will responsible for material preparation, playout, and monitoring of television and radio programming. Utilizing automated systems, the Operator follows a prepared schedule, implements changes when necessary and makes transitions from recorded to live content.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Ensure that the material scheduled for playback is available and plays at the scheduled times.
- Maintain the playlists and make timing adjustments due to timing discrepancies.
- Monitor the quality of the audio and video material.
- Operate and observe all equipment associated with the Technical Operations Center.
- Prepare discrepancy reports for any differences in what is scheduled versus what actually airs.
- Coordinate transition to and from live programming with production staff.
- Monitor transmission equipment and log readings.
- Monitor back-up power equipment; conduct manual changeover to utility power when necessary.
- Monitor alarm display located in Technical Operations Center.
- Ingest program and interstitial material for playback and archival purposes.
- Understand the schedule of live events and ingest those events.
- Monitor system that transfers material to and from the archive.
ABOUT YOU:
- You have practical experience and knowledge of broadcasting.
- Knowledge with personal computers and familiarity with Windows environment.
- Flexible hours to include working on weekends, holidays and overnight hours
- Good eyesight (20/20 corrected) and hearing are required. No color blindness.

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:
As the Videographer, you will shoot general assignment, National, political and feature news in a non-linear newsroom for a designated News program.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Shoot general assignment, political and feature news stories.
- Professionally light reporters and guests.
- Shoot live shots and packages for daily news and/or weekly news shows.
- Operate streaming video equipment like LiveU.
- Assist the Production Manager with managing the freelance photographers and the field production equipment, including company vehicles.
- Set up and operate remote productions.
- Assist in the control room during show production (robotics, tape operator, teleprompter, floor directing, delivering scripts).
- Responsibly operate ENN News crew vehicles; adheres to all local traffic laws.
- Assist reporters in the field with technical assistance.
- Provide flexibility as work may extend beyond broadcast completion including occasional weekends and international and domestic travel (minimal).
- If assigned, organize field crews with reporters and call-in freelancers as needed.
- Assist in maintaining field equipment and crew vehicles.
ABOUT YOU:
- You have a minimum of 3-5 years of broadcast news field experience, preferably with White House or Capitol Hill experience.
- You have proven photography skills in a multi-media newsroom environment and on off-site locations.
- You are experienced in Avid or comparable professional computer-based editing systems, and multiple tape formats.
- You possess strong knowledge of location lighting techniques.
- You are tech savvy and informed about latest broadcast technology.
- You are self-motivated with attention to detail.
- You must be able to pass a White House background check.
- You have good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment and/or independently as needed.
- You have a solid understanding of EWTN’s mission and desire to work in a Catholic environment.
- You are able to lift and carry broadcast equipment up to 50 pounds.
- You are able to attend events, including some domestic travel, as needed.
- You hold a degree/certification in Photography, Broadcasting, Film/TV Production, or other relevant field and/or equivalent combination of training and experience.

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:
As a Viewer Services Representative, you'll play an important role in representing EWTN to further the message and mission of our foundress, Mother Angelica, to our EWTN Family. The Viewer Services Representative provides an attentive, caring and positive experience to our audience through phone calls, e-mail, mail, and prayer offerings.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- You'll be the face of EWTN by answering audience questions via various forms of communication, including telephone, internet and written correspondence.
- Research and respond to questions related to Religious Catalogue orders, Marketing, Production, Programming, Radio, Theology and other areas of the Network as appropriate.
- Take prayer requests, troubleshoot orders, and process donation payments.
- Provide excellent customer service to the EWTN viewers!
ABOUT YOU:
- You have a passion for customer service, and at least 2 years of experience working in a customer service or call center environment.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills, ability to multi-task, and technical proficiency in MS Office and basic data entry.
