Prayers of Fátima
ShareThe following prayers were taught to the Little Shepherds of Fátima by the Angel of Portugal in 1916 or by Our Lady herself during her 1917 apparitions. They were encouraged to recite them often, in petition for sinners, in reparation for sin and its offense against God, and in adoration of Our Lord present in the Most Blessed Sacrament. They were given to the children in Portuguese. The English and Spanish are standardized translations of them.
1916, 1st Apparition of the Angel (My God, I believe)
My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love You.
“Do not be afraid. I am the Angel of Peace. Pray with me.”
Kneeling on the ground, he bowed down until his forehead touched the earth.
Led by a supernatural impulse, we did the same, and repeated the words which we heard him say:
Meu Deus, eu creio, adoro, espero e amo-Vos.
Peço-Vos perdão para os que não crêem, não adoram, não esperam e não Vos amam.
“Pray thus. The Hearts of Jesus and Mary are attentive to the voice of your supplications.”
Translation in English & Spanish:
My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love You.
I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope, and do not love You.Dios mío, yo creo, adoro, espero y os amo.
Os pido perdón por los que no creen, no adoran, no esperan y no os aman.
1916, 3rd Apparition of the Angel (Most Holy Trinity)
Most Holy Trinity
The angel appeared "holding a chalice in his hands, with a host above it from which some drops of blood were falling into the sacred vessel. Leaving the chalice and the host suspended in the air, the Angel prostrated on the ground and repeated this prayer three times:
Santíssima Trindade, Pai, Filho e Espírito Santo, adoro-vos profundamente
e ofereço-vos o preciosíssimo Corpo, Sangue, Alma e Divindade de Jesus Cristo,
presente em todos os sacrários da terra, em reparação dos ultrajes, sacrilégios e indiferenças com que Ele mesmo é ofendido.
E pelos méritos infinitos do Seu Santíssimo Coração e do Coração Imaculado de Maria,
peço-Vos a conversão dos pobres pecadores.
Having done this, he communciated the children saying,
“Take and drink the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, horribly outraged by ungrateful men. Repair their crimes and console your God.”
Translation in English & Spanish:
Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly,
and I offer You the Most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world,
in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences by which He is offended.
And by the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
I beg the conversion of poor sinners.Santísima Trinidad, Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo, os adoro profundamente
y os ofrezco el preciosísimo Cuerpo, Sangre, Alma y Divinidad de Jesucristo, presente en todos los sagrarios de la tierra,
en reparación de los ultrajes, sacrilegious e indiferencias con que Él mismo es ofendido.
Y por los méritos infinitos de su Santísimo Corazón y del Corazón Inmaculado de María,
os pido la conversion de los pobres pecadores.
1917, July 13 Apparition of Our Lady (Sacrifice for Sinners)
O Jesus, it is for love of You.
"Sacrifice yourselves for sinners, and say many times, especially when you make some sacrifice:"
Ó Jesus, é por Vosso amor, pela conversão dos pecadores
e em reparação pelos pecados cometidos contra o Imaculado Coração de Maria!
Translation in English & Spanish:
O Jesus, it is for love of You, for the conversion of sinners,
and in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.Oh Jesús, es por vuestro amor, por la conversion de los pecadores
y en reparación por los pecados cometidos contra el Inmaculado Corazón de María.
The Decade Prayer
At the end, after showing them hell and communicating the three secrets, Our Lady said, “When you pray the Rosary, say after each mystery:”
Ó meu Jesus, perdoai-nos, livrai-nos do fogo do inferno;
levai as minhas almas todas para o Céu,
principalmente aquelas que mais precisarem.
Translation in English & Spanish:
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell.
Lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Thy Mercy.
Oh Jesús mío, perdona nuestros pecados, líbranos del fuego del infierno,
lleva al cielo a todas las almas,
especialmente a las más necesitadas de Tu misericordia.
