Dicastery for the Eastern Churches

The Dicastery for the Eastern Churches, formerly Congregation, considers those matters which touch on the Eastern Catholic Churches - those who use either ancient liturgical rites of their own (e.g. Maronites) or rites held in common with the Orthodox Churches, (e.g. Ukrainian and Ruthenian Catholics), yet are in Communion with the Pope. It treats all questions which pertain either to persons, or to discipline, or to the rites of these Eastern, or Oriental, Churches.
