Flower Shaped Tartlets

Description:
Father Leo explores the life of St. Thérèse of Lisieux. These puff pastries, shaped like flowers, are a sure way to reflect on the Little Flower’s love and devotion to God.
Serves: 2 Savory & 2 Sweet Tarts Per Person
Cook Time: 25 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
Puff Pastry, cut into strips (2 x 8 inches)
Zucchini, cut into very thin, half-moon shapes
Apple, cut into very thin, half-moon shapes
½ tsp Salt
½ tsp Pepper
1 tsp Oregano
1 tsp Olive Oil
1 Tbsp Sugar
1 tsp Cinnamon
2-3 Tbsp Flour for dusting
Butter or Non-Stick spray
Powdered Sugar
Parmesan Cheese, grated (optional)
How To Make:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Season the zucchini slices with salt, pepper, olive oil, and oregano.
- Season the apple slices with sugar and cinnamon.
- Use flour to dust your board or workspace.
- Cut long strips of puff pastry and layer the ingredients (either the seasoned zucchini or apples) along half of the puff pastry, leaving the other half to fold over.
- Fold the puff pastry over the ingredients, making sure that part of the zucchini or apples is still visible.
- Gently roll the pastry and place it in a cupcake pan that has been buttered or sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
- Put the pan in the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until the puff pastry is golden brown.
- For the zucchini, drizzle some olive oil or grate some Parmesan Cheese on top.
- For the apples, sift some powdered sugar on top.
