Hebrews 1:1-6
1In many and various ways God spoke of old to our fathers by the prophets;
2but in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
3He reflects the glory of God and bears the very stamp of his nature, upholding the universe by his word of power. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
4having become as much superior to angels as the name he has obtained is more excellent than theirs.
5For to what angel did God ever say, “Thou art my Son, today I have begotten thee”? Or again, “I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son”?
6And again, when he brings the first-born into the world, he says, “Let all God’s angels worship him.”

1The LORD reigns; let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad!

Mark 1:14-20
14Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God,
15and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the gospel.”
16And passing along by the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen.
17And Jesus said to them, “Follow me and I will make you become fishers of men.”
18And immediately they left their nets and followed him.
19And going on a little farther, he saw James the son of Zebʹedee and John his brother, who were in their boat mending the nets.
20And immediately he called them; and they left their father Zebʹedee in the boat with the hired servants, and followed him.

First Reading
Ezekiel 33:12-16
12And you, son of man, say to your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him when he transgresses; and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall by it when he turns from his wickedness; and the righteous shall not be able to live by his righteousness when he sins.
13Though I say to the righteous that he shall surely live, yet if he trusts in his righteousness and commits iniquity, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered; but in the iniquity that he has committed he shall die.
14Again, though I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ yet if he turns from his sin and does what is lawful and right,
15if the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he has taken by robbery, and walks in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
16None of the sins that he has committed shall be remembered against him; he has done what is lawful and right, he shall surely live.

Gospel
Luke 15:3-7
3So he told them this parable:
4“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost, until he finds it?
5And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.’
7Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
