1 Kings 2:1-4, 10-12
1When David’s time to die drew near, he charged Solomon his son, saying,
2“I am about to go the way of all the earth. Be strong, and show yourself a man,
3and keep the charge of the LORD your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn;
4that the LORD may establish his word which he spoke concerning me, saying, ‘If your sons take heed to their way, to walk before me in faithfulness with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail you a man on the throne of Israel.’
10Then David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.
11And the time that David reigned over Israel was forty years; he reigned seven years in Hebron, and thirty-three years in Jerusalem.
12So Solomon sat upon the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was firmly established.

Mark 6:7-13
7And he called to him the twelve, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits.
8He charged them to take nothing for their journey except a staff; no bread, no bag, no money in their belts;
9but to wear sandals and not put on two tunics.
10And he said to them, “Where you enter a house, stay there until you leave the place.
11And if any place will not receive you and they refuse to hear you, when you leave, shake off the dust that is on your feet for a testimony against them.”
12So they went out and preached that men should repent.
13And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many that were sick and healed them.

Isaiah 52:7-10
7How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good tidings, who publishes peace, who brings good tidings of good, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.”
8Hark, your watchmen lift up their voice, together they sing for joy; for eye to eye they see the return of the LORD to Zion.
9Break forth together into singing, you waste places of Jerusalem; for the LORD has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.
10The LORD has bared his holy arm before the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

Psalms 126:1-5
1When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream.

Matthew 10:16-25
16“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.
17Beware of men; for they will deliver you up to councils, and flog you in their synagogues,
18and you will be dragged before governors and kings for my sake, to bear testimony before them and the Gentiles.
19When they deliver you up, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say; for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour;
20for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
21Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death;
22and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.
23When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next; for truly, I say to you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel, before the Son of man comes.
24“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master;
25it is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Be-elʹzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household.
