Acts 6:1-7
1Now in these days when the disciples were increasing in number, the Hellenists murmured against the Hebrews because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution.
2And the twelve summoned the body of the disciples and said, “It is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God to serve tables.
3Therefore, brethren, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint to this duty.
4But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”
5And what they said pleased the whole multitude, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochʹorus, and Nicaʹnor, and Timon, and Parʹmenas, and Nicolaʹus, a proselyte of Antioch.
6These they set before the apostles, and they prayed and laid their hands upon them.
7And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith.

1Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright.
2Praise the LORD with the lyre, make melody to him with the harp of ten strings!
4For the word of the LORD is upright; and all his work is done in faithfulness.
5He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the LORD.

John 6:16-21
16When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea,
17got into a boat, and started across the sea to Caperʹna-um. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them.
18The sea rose because a strong wind was blowing.
19When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat. They were frightened,
20but he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.”
21Then they were glad to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.

1 John 1:5--2:2

5This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him is no darkness at all.
6If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not live according to the truth;
7but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
8If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

1My little children, I am writing this to you so that you may not sin; but if any one does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;
2and he is the expiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

Matthew 11:25-30
25At that time Jesus declared, “I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes;
26yea, Father, for such was thy gracious will.
27All things have been delivered to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and any one to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
28Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
