Acts 5:27-33
27And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest questioned them,
28saying, “We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and you intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.”
29But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.
30The God of our fathers raised Jesus whom you killed by hanging him on a tree.
31God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.
32And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him.”
33When they heard this they were enraged and wanted to kill them.
Responsorial Psalm
Psalms 34:2, 9, 17-20
1I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
8O taste and see that the LORD is good! Happy is the man who takes refuge in him!
16The face of the LORD is against evildoers, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.
18The LORD is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit.
19Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the LORD delivers him out of them all.
Gospel
John 3:31-36
31He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth belongs to the earth, and of the earth he speaks; he who comes from heaven is above all.
32He bears witness to what he has seen and heard, yet no one receives his testimony;
33he who receives his testimony sets his seal to this, that God is true.
34For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for it is not by measure that he gives the Spirit;
35the Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand.
36He who believes in the Son has eternal life; he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God rests upon him.

1 John 5:1-5
1Every one who believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God, and every one who loves the parent loves the child.
2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments.
3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.
4For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith.
5Who is it that overcomes the world but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
Responsorial Psalm
Psalms 37:3-6, 30-31
3Trust in the LORD, and do good; so you will dwell in the land, and enjoy security.
4Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.
6He will bring forth your vindication as the light, and your right as the noonday.
30The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.
31The law of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slip.
Gospel
Matthew 10:22-25
22and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.
23When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next; for truly, I say to you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel, before the Son of man comes.
24“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master;
25it is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Be-elʹzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household.
