Exodus 19:1-2, 9-11, 16-20
1On the third new moon after the people of Israel had gone forth out of the land of Egypt, on that day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.
2And when they set out from Rephʹidim and came into the wilderness of Sinai, they encamped in the wilderness; and there Israel encamped before the mountain.
9And the LORD said to Moses, “Lo, I am coming to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also believe you for ever.” Then Moses told the words of the people to the LORD.
10And the LORD said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments,
11and be ready by the third day; for on the third day the LORD will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.
16On the morning of the third day there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled.
17Then Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God; and they took their stand at the foot of the mountain.
18And Mount Sinai was wrapped in smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire; and the smoke of it went up like the smoke of a kiln, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.
19And as the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him in thunder.
20And the LORD came down upon Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain; and the LORD called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.

1Now on the first day of the week Mary Magʹdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.
2So she ran, and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.”
11But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb;
12and she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet.
13They said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.”
14Saying this, she turned round and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus.
15Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom do you seek?” Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.”
16Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rab-boʹni!” (which means Teacher).
17Jesus said to her, “Do not hold me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brethren and say to them, I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.”
18Mary Magʹdalene went and said to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord”; and she told them that he had said these things to her.
