Romans 4:13, 16-18
13The promise to Abraham and his descendants, that they should inherit the world, did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith.
16That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his descendants—not only to the adherents of the law but also to those who share the faith of Abraham, for he is the father of us all,
17as it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist.
18In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations; as he had been told, “So shall your descendants be.”
Responsorial Psalm
Psalms 105:6-9, 42-43
6O offspring of Abraham his servant, sons of Jacob, his chosen ones!
7He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
8He is mindful of his covenant for ever, of the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations,
9the covenant which he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac,
42For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.
43So he led forth his people with joy, his chosen ones with singing.
Gospel
Luke 12:8-12
8“And I tell you, every one who acknowledges me before men, the Son of man also will acknowledge before the angels of God;
9but he who denies me before men will be denied before the angels of God.
10And every one who speaks a word against the Son of man will be forgiven; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.
11And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious how or what you are to answer or what you are to say;
12for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”

Ephesians 3:14-19
14For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,
15from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,
16that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with might through his Spirit in the inner man,
17and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
18may have power to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,
19and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fulness of God.
Responsorial Psalm
Psalms 23:1-6
1The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want;
2he makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters;
3he restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies; thou anointest my head with oil, my cup overflows.
6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Gospel
Matthew 11:25-30
25At that time Jesus declared, “I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes;
26yea, Father, for such was thy gracious will.
27All things have been delivered to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and any one to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
28Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
