Butter Steamed Broccoli

2 cups broccoli florets
1 tablespoon olive oil
½ cup water
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon butter




Add water and olive oil to a frying pan, and heat over medium heat until it begins to boil. Add salt, pepper, pepper flakes and butter to the pan. Add broccoli florets. Stir occasionally so the broccoli cooks evenly. Continue cooking until most of the water is evaporated or until the broccoli turns bright green. Remove from heat and serve immediately, pouring the rest of the liquid as a sauce over the broccoli.
