Steamed Flavored Jasmine Rice (Serves 2 as a side dish)

1 cup jasmine rice
2 cups water
1 teaspoon Maggi seasoning
1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon butter, optional

In a nonstick saucepan, add all of the ingredients (optional butter should be added at this time).  Cook over medium low heat, covered.  After 10-15 minutes, remove the lid and allow the rice to boil and cook out slowly.  Mix well to ensure the rice at the base of the saucepan does not overcook and burn.
