This afternoon, 20 September 2015, the Holy Father left the Apostolic Nunciature of Havana by car to the Palacio de la Revolución for a courtesy visit with the President of the Council of State, SE Mr. Raúl Modesto Castro Ruz, and Council of Ministers.

The private meeting between Pope Francis and the President was followed by the presentation of the President's family and the exchange of gifts.

At the same time, the Cardinal Secretary of State, accompanied by the Deputy, the Secretary for Relations with States, and by the Apostolic Nuncio to Cuba, met the Vice President of the Council of State and Ministers of Cuba.
